THREE DEATHS ON ROUTE 604

ON NOV. 9, 1990, two persons were killed on Route 604 (Cloverdale Road), which is also a speed zone for tractor-trailers known as Alternate U.S. 220. This March 20, another death occurred.

This road connects to many subdivisions, markets and a school zone, with families turning to and from this road every day. I beg the State Highway Department to take a close look. If they traveled this road every day with wives, children, mothers and husbands, wouldn't they feel better if the speed limit were lowered to 45 mph throughout 604? KAREN DOLLARHITE ROANOKE
