\ NAVY SEAMAN APPRENTICE ALAN W. TYREE, son of Melvin L. and Johan H. Tyree of 133 Southside Drive, Rocky Mount, has completed training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. He is a 1990 graduate of Franklin County High School.

\ NAVY SEAMAN RECRUIT CHRISTOPHER M. HELWIG, son of Charles W. and Margaret A. Helwig of Forest, has reported for duty aboard the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy, based in Norfolk.

\ WILSON H. WEAVER , son of Gene W. Weaver and stepson of Kathryn H. Weaver of Hardy, has been appointed a sergeant in the Air Force.

Weaver, a communications-computer systems operator, is a 1987 graduate of Patrick Henry High School.

\ NAVY SEAMAN RECRUIT CHARLES A. TINSLEY, son of Wanda and Charles A. Tinsley Sr. of Rocky Mount, recently reported for duty aboard the guided missile frigate USS Taylor, based in Charleston, S.C.

Tinsley is a 1989 graduate of Franklin County High School.

\ NAVY SEAMAN RECRUIT PAUL J. COLEMAN, son of Jesse M. Coleman of Forest, has completed training at Recruit Training Command, San Diego.

Coleman is a 1990 graduate of Amherst County High School.
