WASHINGTON AND LEE DEFEATED IN LACROSSE

Ohio Wesleyan outscored Washington and Lee 7-1 in the final quarter to pull away for an 18-11 men's lacrosse victory Saturday.

The Generals (6-3), ranked eighth in Division III, scored five straight goals to lead 5-3 after trailing early. Ohio Wesleyan then scored four straight to lead 7-5, and never trailed again.

Washington and Lee tied the score at seven and 10, but the sixth-ranked Battling Bishops (3-3) went on a 7-0 run to put the game away. Mike Arfin scored five goals and Rich Franz four. Bill Bishop had seven assists.

For the Generals, Todd Garliss and Drew Anton scored three goals each. Washington and Lee4331-11 Ohio Wesleyan3537-18
