The Keydets led 3-0 in game one, but third inning homers by Craig McLaughlin and Scott Altizer helped bring Furman (13-14 overall, 4-4 conference) back.
Will Ertel moved to 6-1 by pitching a complete game and shutting out VMI over the final six innings.
In game two, VMI (1-16, 0-8) again struck early with five first inning runs, but the Paladins came back with the help of five Keydet errors and a Brent Williams homer.
John Payne had four hits and Gil Minor four RBI on the day for the Keydets.
