FED UP WITH SOME CRITICISM OF SPCA

I AM FED up to the teeth with the criticism that the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals gets from some sources. How can anyone criticize this organization for doing people's dirty work without charge and probably in some cases no donation? Also in cramped quarters and on a shoestring budget.

Linda Palmer (Commentary Page, March 12) had two potential homes for the dog. I wonder why she became involved with the SPCA to begin with.

Finally, she said she was a friend of the "flop-eared hound." It is a shame he didn't have some enemies. If he did, he might be alive and well today. MARIE M. HUBBLE ROANOKE
