TROUT WANTED FOR 40TH RODEO

Last year the annual Ernest `Pig' Robertson Trout Rodeo in Salem attracted more than 1,500 youngsters, and it took nearly $7,000 worth of trout to keep something tugging at their lines.

This year's 40th rodeo is scheduled for mid-May, and the coordinator, Martha Robertson, is looking for donations to purchase fish for what is expected to be the largest crowd ever.

The contributions are being collected by the Salem Parks and Recreation Department.

The fishing dates:

MAY 11, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., youngsters ages 3 through 8.

MAY 13, 10 a.m. to noon, handicapped youngsters.

MAY 15, 10 a.m. to noon, nursing home patients.

MAY 18, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., ages 9-12.
