GARLAND-SEIDMAN
Joann Leigh Seidman and Thomas Martin Garland, Jr., were married February
14, 1991 in First Evangelical Methodist Church of Salem. The officiating
clergyman was Pastor Jimmy Burks. The reception was held in the fellowship
hall of the church. The maid of honor was Tonya Gopadze, friend of the bride.
The matron of honor was Laurie Terry, sister of the bride. Flowergirl was
Nichole Leigh Terry. The best man was Ben Tatum, friend of the groom. The
ushers were Shannon Garland, brother of the groom, and Al White, uncle of the
bride. Ringbearer was Nicholas Garland. The guestbook was attended by Chasity
Elliott. The bride's gown was of lace and beads. She carried a bouquet of
white silk rose buds, real pink rose buds, and beads. The bride is a daughter
of Jerry and Penny Seidman of Salem. She graduated from Glenvar High School,
and is employed by Lewis Gale Clinic. The groom is a son of Thomas M. Garland
and Jean C. Garland of Roanoke. He graduated fro, Patrick Henry High School.
He is employed by Hart Oldsmobile. The bride's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Simmons, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles N. Wood, traveled from Maryland. The grooms
grandmothers, Frances H. Garland of Roanoke, and Minnie Cashwell of North
Carolina also attended the wedding along with other relatives and friends. The
newlyweds will live in Salem after the wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn.
