BREVARD, N.C. - Maude Elliott Crockett, age 92, of Brevard, N.C. and formerly of Floyd County, Ky., died Saturday in the Brian Nursing Center in Brevard. She was the widow of the late Phillip S. Crockett, formerly of Wythe County. She was born in Floyd County, Ky., the daughter of the late John W. and Judith Martin Elliott. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Cora Jackson, Lula Slade, and Anna Stunbo; and two brothers, M.B. Elliott and James A. Elliott. She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Vanderpool, Estill, Ky.; Lou Ann Dent, Cedar Mountain, N.C.; four grandchildren and five stepgreat-grand children. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Cove Brick Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Thomas Sproule. Interment will follow in the Crockett Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Grubb Funeral Home Monday evening from 7:00 until 9:00. The Grubb Funeral Home, Wytheville, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
