OBIT-HALE, E.

Elbert Hale, age 83, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday in a local hospital. He served with the U.S Army during World War II and was retired from the Veterans Hospital in Salem. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sallie Perdue Hale. Surviving are five nephews, William and Jewel Hale of Goodview, Emory Hale of Bedford; James (Bob) Newman of Eden N.C.; James Hale of Rt. 1, Vinton; Warren Turman of Roanoke; three nieces, Mae Turman and Nellie Turman, both of Roanoke; Edna Bowles of Callaway; also several other nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April, 3, 1991, from the Lotz Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Lee Chattin officiating. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Lotz Vinton Chapel.
