Geneva Tate Lawrence, age 82, of Roanoke County, died Sunday. She was a long time member of Green Hill Church of the Brethren and teacher of childrens classes for over 30 years. Her husband, Alvin W. Lawrence died March 25, 1991. Surviving are three sisters and a brother-in-law, Elva Tate; Rebecca Wimmer, Polley and George Goade, all of Salem; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Prentiss and Aurelia Tate; James and Becky Tate; Edgar E. and Geraldine Tate; John W. Tate, all of Salem; Harold Tate of Annandale, Va. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at the Green Hill Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Dee Flory officiating. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem.
