Registration will be held 5-5:45 p.m., with competition beginning at 6.
The events will include free throw and speed shooting for beginners and intermediate divisions; and free throw, speed shooting and hot shot for junior varsity through adult divisions.
Trophies will be awarded to the first-place winners and bronze medals will be awarded to the second- and third-place winners in each of the following divisions:
\ Boys: Beginners K-2, primary 3-4, intermediate 5-7, jr. varsity 8-10, varsity 11-12.
\ Girls: Beginners K-2, primary 3-4, intermediate 5-7, jr. varsity 8-10, varsity 11-12.
\ Adults: 18 years and up (joint division for men and women).
J.C. Waters was a junior at Floyd County High. He was on the varsity golf team and the varsity basketball team. He was killed March 12, 1989, in a car crash. A scholarship was set up in his name.
There will be drawings for door prizes throughout the evening. Hot dogs and refreshments will be sold. Registration is on a donation basis. The minimum registration fee is $1. Pre-registration is encouraged; however, participants may register the night of the competition. All proceeds go to the J.C. Waters Scholarship Fund. Call 789-7729.
