PULASKI WOMAN GETS CITIZEN AWARD

Neighborhood Crime Watch Coordinator Betty Steger of Pulaski received the Virginia Crime Prevention Association Citizen Award here this week and went over the 1,000-hour mark for volunteer time during the round trip.

Steger began helping to organize Neighborhood Watch programs in late 1989 and became coordinator as the program grew. She was nominated for the award by Pulaski lawyer T. Rodman Layman.
