GENERALS CAN'T DODGE HORNETS

Eric Dodge and John Ciarlo drove in two runs apiece and Lynchburg went on to defeat Washington and Lee 7-4 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference baseball game Tuesday.

Dodge went 5-for-5 and scored two runs for the Hornets, who improved to 10-7 overall, 3-1 in the ODAC. Ciarlo was 2-for-3, including a double.

The Generals (7-6, 3-6) were led by catcher Chris Kavanaugh, who had three RBI and went 2-for-4.

The Generals managed just two baserunners after the sixth inning. Lynchburg reliever Jeff Parr closed down Washington and Lee, striking out five of the six batters he faced and earning his third save of the season.
