WEAPONS CHARGE FILED AGAINST MAN

A man pulled a handgun from his pants pocket about 10:30 p.m. Sunday after officers stopped a vehicle on Top Hill Drive Northwest, Roanoke police said.

James E. Patterson, 22, of the 800 block of Hunt Avenue Northwest, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

The man dropped the gun only after repeated warnings, police said.
