Truck transmissions will be assembled before they are shipped to a new Eaton Corp. plant to be built at Hillsville. Because of an editing error, a story Tuesday inaccurately stated they would be assembled after they are shipped to the plant.

\ A prominent right-wing senator from Chile, Sen. Jaime Guzman, was shot and killed Monday. Because of a copy editor's error, a headline Tuesday stated incorrectly that the senator was Argentine.

\ Because of a reporter's error, a store robbed in Salem on Sunday was incorrectly identified in Tuesday's editions. It was a Dollar General Store. Also, because of incorrect information provided to the newspaper, the job titles of the two people bound and gagged during the robbery were incorrect. One was a cashier and the other was a store manager.
