PEARISBURG ABC STORE GETS SERVICE AWARD

The state's Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control recently presented an award for excellence in public service to the Pearisburg ABC store located on U.S. 460 at the Thriftway Shopping Center.

The award, an engraved plaque, recognizes the Pearisburg store's high level of customer service as determined through the state department's Mystery Shopper Program. Under the program, seven mystery shoppers, selected from area colleges and universities, visited each store twice and made anonymous purchases.

The department's first Chairman's Award was presented to store manager W.L. Stafford and his staff last month.
