TEEN-AGERS, WDBJ TEAM UP FOR SHOW

For a few minutes Friday afternoon, WDBJ's programming may look like it was produced by a bunch of junior high school pupils.

That's OK. It was.

Video produced by Hidden Valley Junior High School pupils makes up three segments of "Fuzzy Logic," a 30-minute magazine-style show aimed at kids ages 10-12. The show is produced by WDBJ and premieres on Channel 7 Friday afternoon at 5:30.

Hidden Valley pupils Amy Sullivan, Livi Cullather and Chris Obenshain host the show, the first of what WDBJ programming director Kay Hall hopes will be a monthly series.

The pupils taped the program's introduction and narrated segments shot and written by WDBJ staffers. Other stories in the program are reported by News 7 staffers Robin Reed, Patrick Evans and Roy Stanley.

The format includes segments on the recent robotic dinosaur exhibit at the Science Museum of Western Virginia, the Hershey's candy factory in Stuart's Draft and junior golf.

The Hidden Valley students' segments are on fashion, sibling rivalry and kids' most embarrassing moments at school. The students aren't exactly video novices - they produce a short video report of announcements, called the "Eagle Report," shown at the school each day in conjunction with the daily, nationally distributed "Channel One" news report.
