CITIZENS REMINDED OF REGULATIONS FOR DOGS

Blacksburg citizens are reminded that the town maintains pet regulations to assure protection of area residents.

Regulations prohibit dogs from running at-large and require dogs be kept on a leash when off the owner's property. Pet owners also are required to clean up after their pets when off their property.

County dog licenses are required for all dogs over 6 months old. The licenses cost $5 for males and females and $3 for neutered or spayed dogs. Licenses may be obtained in the lobby of the Municipal Building in Blacksburg or at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Christiansburg. Tags expire Dec. 31 of each year.
