Mrs. R.L. Roy Jr., social chairwoman, was in charge of the luncheon. Mrs. D.L. Kinnear, retiring president, was honored by the club with a donation to the remodeling fund at Nature Camp and with a surprise shower of gifts.
Officers for 1991-92 were installed by Mrs. W.E. Holberton. They are: Mrs. J.G. Palmer, president; Mrs. William Alderson, vice president; Mrs. R.N. Prittie, recording secretary; Mrs. J.C. Hassal, treasurer; and Mrs. A.J. Walrath, corresponding secretary.
The Mrs. A.G. Smith Jr. awards for excellence in horticulture were presented to Mrs. Hassal, first place, and Mrs. R.L. Humbert, second place.
Mrs. J.R. Beaver, president of the Blue Ridge District of the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs, was a recent guest of the club.
