CRASH KILLS MAN

A 63-year-old Thaxton man died Wednesday after his pickup truck collided with a van on U.S. 460 in Bedford County.

James F. Bostic was traveling the wrong way in the eastbound lane of the divided highway when he ran head on into the van about 10:25 a.m.

He died about 2:05 p.m. at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

State Trooper George Tsoleas said Bostic might have lived if he had been wearing a seat belt.

Three occupants of the van sustained minor injuries. Both vehicles were heavily damaged.
