ROSE ANN BURGESS, elementary music Burgess teacher in the Roanoke schools, has been selected by the Music Educators National Conference to be included in the first group of nationally registered music educators. Burgess was one of seven music educators from Virginia recognized.

\ BARBARA FLANAGAN, a learning disabilities teacher at Mountain View Elementary School and education coordinator of the Parent Resource Center, is the recipient of this year's Virginia Council for Learning Disabilities' Outstanding Teacher Award. The award is given annually to an teacher who demonstrates exemplary achievement in the areas of advocacy for the learning disabled and the development of innovative instructional strategies.

\ RICHARD KING has been received a 1990-91 Teachers of the Year award from the Virginia Educational Computing Association. King teaches multihandicapped children at Mountain View Elementary School. His entry in the statewide competition dealt with the use of technology to assist in the educational integration of multihandicapped children with non-handicapped peers.
