JPS Textile Group, owner of the Angle plant in Rocky Mount and successor to J.P. Stevens & Co., a major textile manufacturer, said it has come out of bankruptcy court protection with the confirmation of its restructuring plan.

Americans bought $815 million in U.S. savings bonds in March, the most they have purchased in that month since the program began 50 years ago, the Treasury Department said Thursday. The previous record was $740 million in sales in March 1978.
