Samuel Curtis Ruff, age 71, died Thursday, April 4, 1991 in the V.A. Medical Center, Salem. He was born in Bedford Couty on November 16, 1919, a son of the late John Davis Ruff and Callie Frances Parker Ruff. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a retired carpenter. He is survived by three brothers, Peter Ruff, of Roanoke; John Ruff, of Ceredo, W.Va. and Aubrey Ruff, of Stafford; four sisters, Ellen Coleman, Estelle Bradley and Nellie Powers, all of Bedford; and Frances Dawson, of Rocky Mount; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted at the graveside in Greenwood Cemetery Saturday at 4:00 p.m. with the Rev. Kenneth E. Burger officiating and military rites provided by American Legion Post #16. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home.
