MOST OSCAR WINNERS NOT ON VIDEO

If you're waiting to see this year's Oscar winners on home video, don't hold your breath.

With the exceptions of "Ghost," which scared up awards for Whoopi Goldberg and screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin, and "Dick Tracy," which copped art direction, makeup and best song honors, none of the major Academy Award honorees are out on video.

A release date has yet to be announced for "Dances With Wolves," winner of the Best Picture, Best Director and five other awards. Before the film opened last November, Orion planned to put out the home video in June.

However, as the American Indian epic began picking up rave reviews and steam at the box office, the company quickly changed its mind and postponed the video release indefinitely.

Paul Wagner, vice president in charge of public affairs for Orion Home Video, said a release date for the video of the three-hour, one-minute version currently playing in theaters probably would be announced within a month.

Warner Home Video has yet to announce release dates for "GoodFellas," which earned Joe Pesci the Best Supporting Actor award, and "Reversal of Fortune," which scored Jeremy Irons the Best Actor Oscar.

The video of "Misery," featuring Kathy Bates' Best Actress performance, will be out in mid-July, said John De Simeo, spokesman for Castle Rock Entertainment, which produced the Stephen King suspense film.
