James Garnet Blount, age 92, of Roanoke, died Thursday. He is survived by his wife, Florence F. Blount; son and daughter-in-law, James Nathaniel and Elizabeth Ann Blount of Winston Salem, N.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Justine B. and Joseph H. Cutler, Jr., of Bedford; sister, Elizabeth B. Angle; brother, Carey L. Blount; grandchildren, Cherie C. and husband, David A. Whitehurst; Kenneth H. and wife, Angela Cutler; Michael W. Cutler, Jeffrey B. Cutler, Wendy Anne Blount; one great-granddaughter, Alison Marie Whitehurst. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at Lotz Roanoke Chapel by Rev. David A. Whitehurst and Rev. Helen Casey-Rutland with burial in Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Lotz Funeral home, Roanoke.
