WALKER, ROBERT R.

Robert Randolph Walker, age 69, died Friday, April 5, 1991, in the VA Medical Center, Salem. Mr. Walker was born April 15, 1921, in White Sulfur Springs, W. Va., and was the son of the late James Paul Walker and Nannie Dove Hurt Walker. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy from August 1942 - November 1945. He was retired from Burlington Industries after thirty-three years service. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his wife, Justyne Mohler Walker. Surviving are one son, Robert R. Walker Jr., Pikeville, N.C.; seven daughters, Sharon Crawford, Roanoke; Sally Kelly, Boones Mill; Susan Beakes, Lexington; Roberta Cole, Roanoke; Kathy St. Clair, Glasgow; Laura Clark, Lexington; Selma Walker, Natural Bridge; two brothers, James Paul Walker, Marathon, Fla.; Weymouth D. Walker, White Sulfur Springs, W. Va.; two sisters, Anne Berkowitz, Santa Cruz, Calif.; Preston Coleburn, Newark, Del.; fifteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 8, 1991, at the graveside in the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Elizabeth Walker. The family suggests memorial donations to be made to the Glasgow Life Saving Crew. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
