RADFORD SCORES EARLY, POUNDS CLARKSON 16-3

Radford University scored 12 runs in the first two innings to down winless Clarkson 16-3 Friday and complete a three-game sweep of the Golden Knights.

The Highlanders (12-16-4) got the first run when leadoff hitter Robbie Cassels stole home. Ben Chow, who had two hits, scored next on a triple by Donnie Just.

Jeff Altergott, making his first pitching start since April 26, 1989, because of surgery on his right elbow, struck out six in six innings to pick up the victory.
