POSSIBLE DRUG TIE CITED IN SEIZURE OF CASH, CAR

Authorities have seized about $4,000 in cash and the North Carolina car in which it was found because of indications that its occupants were involved in drug activity.

No drugs were found when Trooper Mike Musser stopped the car Thursday for speeding on Interstate 77 in Wythe County. But State Police Sgt. J.G. Ashworth said evidence was found on the four occupants of the car including the money and address books listing people with extensive drug-trafficking records.

Three adults and a 15-year-old juvenile were charged with conspiracy to distribute controlled substances.
