Edith Smith Tyree, age 71, died Friday, April 5, 1991, in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital. She was born February 19, 1920, in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late DeWitt Talmadge Tyree and Margaret Smith Tyree. Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Wood and Mrs. Evelyn Perdue, both of Roanoke; Mrs. Nell Pollock, Natural Bridge Station; Mrs. Mae Witt, Salem; one brother, Nelson Tyree, Buena Vista; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 8, 1991, at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Conald Fogus and the Rev. William Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at the Timber Ridge A. R. P. Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Harrison Funeral Home and at other times at the home of David Pollock.
