AWARDS PRESENTED TO STUDENT JOURNALISTS

Two Salem High School students were among 19 student journalists honored Saturday with awards in the 1990-91 High School Writing Contest sponsored by Virginia Press Women Inc.

Liza Dotson placed third in the features category, and a personal column written by Mark Skelley took second.

VPW is the only professional press organization in Virginia that sponsors a contest for high school students. The awards were announced Saturday at the VPW's spring luncheon.
