ROANOKE RUGBY CLUB TAKES ON D.C. CLUB

The Roanoke Rugby Club played three matches Saturday against the Washington D.C. Irish Rugby Club at Lincoln Terrace Elementary School.

In the "A" side match, Jon Thompson scored a try, a conversion and a penalty kick for all of Roanoke's points in a 14-9 loss, dropping its record to 4-3. The Roanoke "Old Boys" side, age 35-over, defeated Washington 17-6 in its first match of the season. In the "B" match, Roanoke fell 17-3 to even its record at 2-2. - Staff report
