NOW'S THE TIME TO CHECK OUT POWER TOOLS

Now, before the gardening rush begins, is the time to check power tools to be sure they will be in working order. Yearly tune-ups are the best way to make any power equipment last.

Service centers often offer special repair prices to customers. Sometimes it is possible to repair smaller tools at home using the manufacturer's replacement parts.

Here are some of the most-used power tools and repairs they may need:

Lawn Mower: General maintenance like steam cleaning.

Riding Mower: Carburetor repair, air-filter replacement, sharpening of cutting blade.

Edger: Cutting blade replacement.

String Weeder: Nylon string cutter replacement.

Hedge Clipper: Sharpening of cutting blade.
