SPACES STILL OPEN FOR DINNER A L'ART

Six of this year's Dinner A L'Art events are sold out, but the Roanoke Museum of Fine Arts is still taking reservations for the remaining nine gourmet meals.

Dinner A L'Art, now in its third year, is an important fund-raiser for the museum. The hosts donate their services and the food, with the income coming from tickets sales.

Among those events with space remaining is the April 17 "No Trump Luncheon," featuring bridge and lunch at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George I. Vogel.

Railroad buffs can dine in the General William Mahone, a restored railway car, on April 26. "Doubles for Art," also on April 26, will combine tennis with fine food at the Hunting Hills Country Club.

For "A Global Experience," amateur chefs Joan Brenner, Norma Quarles, Susan Shortridge and Jane Williams will prepare a meal to be delivered and served at a place of the guests' choice on April 26.

There will be a dinner for 20 at the Jefferson Club on April 26 and a "Pie in the Sky" dessert extravaganza for 50 at Terra Alta on Mill Mountain on April 28. Barbara and Rocco Capozzi will be hosts of "Manga Bene," a pasta bash, at their home in Christiansburg on May 4. "Ye Olde Fyll Inn" will be served up by Janie and Larry Davidson and Russ and Hank Stecker on the same evening.

Finally, the museum's Young Art Patrons invite 300 to a "Swine Tasting" in support of the "swine arts" at Camp Virginia Jaycee on June 15. Proceeds will be earmarked for children's educational programs at the museum.

Tickets for the Dinner A L'Art events range from $25 per couple to $100 per person. Call 342-5760.
