VCU STUDENT FACES HEARING FOR DISRUPTION

A graduate student at Virginia Commonwealth University has been charged with disrupting an on-campus recruiting session with General Electric Co.

Kenneth Bravmann, 22, said he courteously, if persistently, asked questions about radioactive and toxic waste, fraud and other documented allegations leveled in recent years against General Electric, one of the world's largest manufacturers of components for nuclear weapons.

A self-described activist, Bravmann is to appear before a disciplinary board Tuesday.

On Nov. 15, Bravmann organized some friends and attended a career "information session" on campus.

While friends handed out anti-GE fliers, Bravmann questioned the recruiter about radiation leaks, fraud, toxic waste and other allegations, he said.
