DON'T CELEBRATE TILL ALL TROOPS HOME

PRESIDENT Bush proclaimed this past weekend "Days of Thanksgiving" for the liberation of Kuwait, the end of hostilities in the gulf and the return of American troops.

The war may be over, but not the hostilities, and most important is that not all of the troops are home.

There are still many American troops in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in the gulf. One of them is my son Craig. Others are in Company B of the Roanoke Marine Division.

I am really happy for all the servicemen and women who served in the Middle East and are now home. But I cannot really celebrate until my son and all the others are back home, or at least on American soil.

Let's wait until all of the troops return before we really start celebrating and have a day of thanksgiving.
