Mr. William Parker Stewart, Jr., age 66, died Sunday, April 7, 1991 in a Roanoke hospital. He was a retired Locomotive Engineer for the Norfolk & Western Railroad with 33 years of service. He was also a combat veteran of World War II, serving in Germany from 1944 through 1946 and a lifetime farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet D. Stewart. He is survived by three sons, William Sanford Stewart; Robert Allen Stewart, both of Buchanan; Steven Parker Stewart, Springwood; two daughters, Pamela S. Reid; Cherry S. Ramsey, both of Buchanan; two brothers, John Burrell Stewart, Bedford; Paul Kenneth Stewart, Salem; two sisters, Dorothy Jennings, Colorado; Betsy Brammer, Christiansburg; eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the Intermont Farm in Springwood with the Rev. Chester Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Rader Funeral Home, Buchanan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Buchanan Rescue Squad.
