VA. BEACH COUPLE CLAIMS LOTTO JACKPOT

Carl and Bobbi-Jo Volz got their first payment of $389,755 before taxes, and will receive 19 more payments of $386,000 before taxes, the Virginia Lottery said.

Volz, a 42-year-old firefighter, and Bobbi-Jo Volz, a 34-year-old nurse, said they plan to buy a new car and will continue working.

The winning ticket was purchased at Creed's Food Mart in Virginia Beach, which will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the ticket. The winning numbers were 5, 11, 12, 16, 19, 35.

Wednesday's jackpot drops to an estimated $1 million.
