Della Whorley Burkholder, age 76, of Route 6, passed away Monday, April 8, 1991 in the Bedford County Memorial Hospital. She was born July 14, 1914 in Botetourt County, a daughter of the late Robert T. Whorley and Elviria Bryant Whorley. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Moorman L. Clark and David E. Witt. She was a member of the Grace Memorial Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Warren L. Burkholder; one daughter Lois C. Chittum, Vinton; three sons, Glenn Clark, Thaxton; Loyd Clark and Roger Clark, both of Bedford; one sister, Mrs. Louise St. Clair, Bedford; one half-brother, Robert T. Whorley, Bedford; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 11, 1991 at 1:00 p.m. from the Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford, by the Rev. Howard Talley and Rev. Ken Butterworth. Interment will be in the Suck Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 at the funeral home.
