Mr. Linwood Lanier Wilson, age 86, formerly of Danville, died Tuesday morning at the Berry Hill Nursing Home in South Boston, Va. He was born in Pittsylvania County on November 24, 1904, a son of the late Charles H. Wilson and Jennie Bennett Wilson. Mr. Wilson attended Virginia Military Institute and William & Mary. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of Epiphany. Survivors include two daughters, Meredith Wilson Gravely of Danville; Linda Wilson Watkins of Roanoke; one sister, Mrs. Wilbur Pickett of Ormond Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery with the Rev. Quigg Lawrence of Roanoke officiating. Townes Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Henry L. Gravely of 106 Virginia Avenue, Danville. The family of Linwood Lanier Wilson desires that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the charity of your choice.
