FERRUM, SMITH SLAM HORNETS 9-0 IN BASEBALL

Jerold Smith hit two home runs, including a fifth-inning grand slam, to lead Ferrum (20-4) past Lynchburg 9-0 in non-conference college baseball Tuesday.

Robert Fuller earned the victory by pitching seven shutout innings. Fuller (6-0) had five strikeouts for the Panthers (20-4).

Lynchburg is 14-10.
