We had a Vinton police escort to the city limits of Roanoke. From that point we were on our own. Motorists cut into the procession and crossed over into other lanes. There were three near accidents because of people trying to get off at the Valley View Mall exit.
Getting off Peters Creek exit, some cars had to wait because motorists would not give them the right of way. As we were turning into Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, a motorist cut through behind the hearse and in front of us, causing us to slam on brakes.
Motorists should respect funeral processions. I am going to do everything in my power to get this enforced. JANET HALE ROANOKE
