WATERCOLOR SHOW IN STAUNTON

Nineteen Western Virginians will be represented in the 12th Virginia Watercolor Society Jurored Exhibition, which opens in Staunton on April 21.

There are 114 paintings in the show. They were selected by the juror, Morris J. Shubin, from the 635 slides that were submitted by 227 Virginia artists. Shubin is a nationally known watercolorist, teacher and author from Montebello, Calif.

The Western Virginians whose work will be in the show are Shawn Patrick Crookshank of Abingdon; Louis Barberis and Revelle Hamilton of Bedford; Nadine C. Allen, Carole C. Davis and Robert Fields of Blacksburg; Jean R. Nelson of Christiansburg; Judy Bates of Salem; Z.L. Feng and Mei Shu of Radford; Sandra K. Brunk, Patricia T. Carr, Sandra T. Chadwick, John Will Creasy, Belva M. Hicks, Carol Marlowe Nelms, Kathy Seek and Dell Siler of Roanoke; and Norris Coleman of Vinton.

The show will hang in the Augusta County Government Center until May 19. The center is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be open during the same hours on two Saturdays, April 27 and May 18, during the watercolor show.
