Mr. William McComb Tuttle, age 80, died Tuesday, April 9 in a local hospital. Born in Craigsville, he resided in Salem for the past 44 years. He is survived by his wife, Rome Schlater Johnston Tuttle; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Johnston and Patricia Highfill Tuttle of Black Mountain, N.C.; daughter, Diane Brooks Tuttle of Roanoke; grandchildren, Christopher Stephen Tuttle and Sara Brooks Tuttle, both of Black Mountain, N.C.; sisters, Mrs. Ella (Ira) T. Hornbarger of Hot Springs; Mrs. Rachel Daniel of Clifton Forge; a number of nieces and nephews. Committal services will be held 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Thornrose Cemetery, Staunton. Witness to the Resurrection will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at Salem Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Salem Rescue Squad or the American Heart Association.
