Charles Galloway Hammond, Jr., 69, of Pine Knoll Shores, N.C., died Monday, April 8th. He is survived by his wife, Sara Genheimer Hammond of the home; sons, Charles G. Hammond, III of Fredericksburg; William G. Hammond of Midlothian; daughters, Sallie H. Holt of Hickory, N.C.; Fran H. Shade of Carlisle, Pa.; and Mary Lee H. Dickson of Lusby, Md.; brother; Lee Hammond of Buchanan; cousin, Roy Davis of New York, N.Y.; and ten grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 10 at New Bern National Cemetery, New Bern, N.C. with the Rev. Edward Philipson officiating.
