VIARS, CARRIE K.

Carrie Kidd Viars, age 80, of Barren Springs, Va., died Wednesday in the Radford Community Hospital. She was born in Pulaski, Va., a daughter of the late Amos and Mary Peak Kidd. She was a member of the Riverview Church of God and a retired employee of Electro Plastics in Pulaski, Va. She was preceded in death by one son, Jean Kidd. She is survived by her husband, Ray Harless Viars; one daughter, Nellie Lawson of Pulaski, Va.; six sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin Viars of Martinsville, Va.; W. Ray and Violet Viars of Draper, Va.; Ronald Viars, Alvin and Barbara Viars, James and Carolyn Viars, Leroy Thomas and Lois Viars, Mrs. Jean Kidd, all of Barren Springs, Va.; one sister, Esther Baker of Pulaski, Va.; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Riverview Church of God with the Rev. Michael Collins officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Christian Cemetery in Draper, Va. The body will be taken to the Riverview Church of God Thursday evening where the family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00. Reese Funeral Home in Austinville, Va. is in charge of the arrangements.
