NORMAN NOT READY

To hear golfer Greg Norman tell it, don't expect much from him at the Masters this year.

"I have zero desire to play right now," he said after shooting a 76 in the final round of The Players Championship to finish tied for 62nd. "It reflects the way I play and the way I feel. I hate it. I've lost control. The Masters is coming up, and I don't feel like I even want to practice. I don't even feel like I want to hit balls, and that's never happened before."

This talk is so unlike Norman. He always is so up for The Masters that when he missed the cut last year, the only logical reason was that he had overprepared.

From 1986-89, Norman finished second, second, fifth and third at Augusta, losing a playoff once and twice missing out on sudden death by one stroke.
