Earl Theodore Edwards, Sr., age 74, died Tuesday, April 9, 1991, in a Roanoke hospital. He was born in Fauquier County, on December 19, 1916, a son of the late William B. and Mary Holmes Edwards. He was a veteran of W.W. II, and was retired from the Soil Conservation Service, a division of the U. S. Department of Agriculture. He had also served on the Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors. He was a member and past president of the Fairfield Ruritan Club. He was also serving on the Board of Directors for the Natural Bridge Soil Conservation District. He was a member of Manley Memorial Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Fix Edwards; two sons, Earl T. Edwards, Jr., Lexington; Michael W. Edwards, Denver, Colo.; daughter-in-law, Sharon L. Edwards, Lexington; granddaughter, Khristi N. Edwards, Lexington; three brothers, Roy G. Edwards, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Archie W. Edwards, Remington; Clifton P. Edwards, Winchester; three sisters, Sadie E. Reid, Arlington; Ruth E. Carl, Washington, D. C.; Grace E. Comer, Remington. Funeral services will be held at Harrison Funeral Chapel Friday, April 12, 1991, at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Thomas G. Harvey officiating. Burial will follow at the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Lexington Rescue Squad or American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
