HEIDRICH PROPELS RADFORD

Galen Heidrich singled home Dennis Van Pelt with two outs in the seventh inning to break a tie and give Radford a 9-8 college baseball victory over VMI on Wednesday.

The Keydets (1-25-1) led 4-0 after one inning on John Payne's three-run double. Radford (14-18-4) answered with three runs in the third, took a 7-5 lead in the fifth on Van Pelt's three-run home run, then fell behind again 8-7 in the sixth when VMI first baseman Glen Buck hit a three-run homer.

Buck drove in four runs for the Keydets, who have lost nine in a row.
