5K FESTIVAL CHALLENGE SCHEDULED IN VINTON

The fifth annual CMT Festival Challenge, sponsored by CMT Sporting Goods, the Vinton Dogwood Festival Inc. and Asics, will be held April 20 at 9:30 a.m. in Vinton.

The 5K race is certified by the Road Race Technical Committee of The Athletic Congress.

The entry fee is $10 through Monday and $12 thereafter. Six age categories will be included in the women's division and nine in the men's. The top three winners in each group will receive medals and all participants will receive a T-shirt and breakfast after the race.

Awards include savings bonds, athletic shoes and trophies.
