3 MORE ANNOUNCE FOR BOTETOURT RACES

Three more people have entered the political race in Botetourt County for the November election.

Ray Sprinkle and Tommy L. Moore have announced intentions to run for clerk of Circuit Court to succeed George E. Holt, who is retiring in July. Steven I. Wampler has announced plans to run for commissioner of revenue, opposing the incumbent, Jean Bare.

All three are seeking Democratic Party nominations.

Sprinkle, a 41-year-old real-estate agent and orchardist, has been a member of the Botetourt County School Board for the past 17 years, five of those as chairman and 10 years on the budget committee.

Wampler, a real-estate appraiser, was project supervisor for the general reassessment of real estate in Botetourt County in 1986-87 and was designated the county's professional assessor by the state Department of Taxation.

Moore, a 41-year-old lawyer, is chairman of the county's Industrial Development Authority and serves as the county's representative on the board of directors for Virginia Western Community College. - CHARLES STEBBINS
